Forensic chemistry is the application of chemistry that is most generally associated with crime scene investigations.  Forensic chemists can assist with the identification of unknown materials found at a crime scene using a wide array of methods and instruments. You may be familiar with the work of forensic chemists through television shows such as CSI and NCIS.

Dr. Morton’s past and current interests include work in environmental-heavy metal monitoring, development of applications for use in applied forensic science, chemical education through developing guides to help student learn and retain information, and the intersections of chemistry and art.
