SGPA, as in Science GPA. (definitely not S-PGA, fortunately we are not practicing to become Scientist-Golf Players)

The Science GPA is the average of five science courses taken by nursing school applicants: two chemistry class, two anatomy & physiology classes, and one microbiology course. In this Faculty Learning Community, we are meeting together as course coordinators representing these five classes. Our immediate goal is to analyze the course content in each of these courses and look for ways to emphasize important concepts across the five courses. Our larger goal is to improve student success in this sequence of science classes and in nursing school, or other allied health professions. And to eat as many baked goods as possible during our meetings.
