Associate Professor of Chemistry; specializing in biotechnology, biochemistry and organic chemistry. Dr. Haining has expertise in drug metabolism and pharmacogenetics. He taught at West Virginia University in the School of Pharmacy where he held an R01 grant from the National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) prior to accepting his current teaching and research position at GGC. His research interests now focus on the role of neuromelanin in human brain. Neuromelanin is a spontaneously forming polymer of dopamine that is retained for life in normal individuals, yet whose function is largely unknown.
