Dr. Marvin Bontrager is currently an assistant professor of management in the School of Business where he teaches management and organizational behavior courses. His teaching philosophy is to promote student engagement, incorporate active learning, and use innovative methods in the classroom to foster a learning environment.
Bontrager earned his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Tyler, a master’s in business administration from the University of Central Oklahoma, and a B.S. in business administration from Quincy University.
Prior to teaching at GGC, Bontrager worked in the private sector for 12 years in the health insurance industry. While there, he held the position of strategic account executive and worked with large corporate clients to provide consultative services and recommendations for employee group health plans. This included renewal negotiations and managing customer retention.
