| Bio | Dr. Cara Minardi earned her Ph. D. from Georgia State University in May 2011. She has taught basic writing, freshman composition, business writing, pedagogy, world literature (ancient to present day) women’s literature, and rhetoric (English 1102, History of Rhetoric) since 2001. Her past research focuses on the recovery of women as teachers and rhetoricians for the history of rhetoric in ancient period (6 BCE-6 ACE). In 2015-2016, Minardi was named CTE Scholar. |
| Scholarship/Publications | Minardi has published articles in _Peitho_ and in _thirdspace: A Journal of Feminist Theory and Culture_, and has edited five collaboratively written textbooks for undergraduate writers. She has published in collaboration with GGC faculty Drs. Kim Davis, Christine Heilman, Tonya Ritola, Suzanne Biedenbach, and Amanda Sepulveda about the Segue Program at GGC. One article appeared in _Open Spaces_. Segue faculty also wrote a chapter about the hurdles they had to overcome when developing the Segue Program at GGC; the chapter will appear in _Innovative Developments in Writing Studio Practice_ sometime in 2017. Her current research project is about students’ transition from high school to college. |
