About Me

Mahriana Rofheart is an assistant professor of English at GGC, where she teaches college writing and world literature courses. She received her PhD in Comparative Literature from Rutgers University in 2010. Her book, Shifting Perceptions of Migration in Senegalese Literature, Film, and Social Media was published in 2014 and received honorable mention from the African Literature Association in 2016. She currently researches speculative fiction of Africa and the Diaspora written in French and English. Her research interests also include African comics, digital art, and fan conventions, and she has an article forthcoming in Technology & Culture on African science fiction.
