Pursell” for detailed information, http://commons.ggc.edu/dpursell/ or contact me via email at dpursell@ggc.edu or davidpursell@icloud.com I joined the GGC faculty in 2007 from the University of Pennsylvania, where I was the executive director of Penn Chemistry. I then served as GGC’s associate dean for the School of Science and Technology from 2007-2010, administrator of part-time science faculty from 2010-2012, and then returned to full-time faculty duties. My pre-academic career included serving world-wide for 25 years as a combat engineer officer in the U.S. Army. I earned my Ph.D. in the field of chemical physics at Penn under the direction of Professor Hai-Lung Dai. |
Scholarship/Publications | The Pursell Research Group focus is environmental chemistry and chemical education. Chemistry Research. The Pursell research group investigates the GGC campus ecosystem, using analytical, organic, physical and instrumental chemistry methods. Chemical Education. The Pursell research group develops methods of engaging 21st century students to enable their development as independent, responsible learners who contribute to their profession and community.
