Bio | Dr. Gyurov is originally from Bulgaria – a small southeastern European country on the Balkan Peninsula. He earned his doctorate degree in mathematics at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and worked in the University of Arkansas system until August 2012 when he joined GGC. He brings to GGC the experience of a seasoned educator who loves teaching and working with students. He constantly searches for ideas to get the students inspired and involved in undergraduate research and interdisciplinary research. He does the latter in one of the major GGC study abroad initiatives: the math and biology study abroad program. Gyurov is the math leader of the study abroad program, which ran in 2015 and 2016 in Vietnam and Japan and since 2017 it runs in Thailand and South Korea. |
