I am a broadly trained organismal biologist with expertise in aquatic ecology, and an avid bird watcher. I teach introductory biology, ecology, and limnology. My research interests include the ecology of freshwater lakes, ponds, and streams in human-dominated landscapes. My interest in field biology also extends to developing outdoor classroom activities with a goal of establishing a life-long interest in the natural world and its stewardship. PhD and MSc in Biology from Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, AZ. BS in Biology (with chemistry minor) from Northland College, Ashland, WI.
