SOPs

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) have been developed for several of our instruments with the following goals in mind:

  • To develop a set of step-by-step instructions to help faculty and students operate each instrument.
  • To properly maintain each instrument.
  • To aid in training faculty and students on each instrument, thereby increasing the availability of instruments for students completing their course work and for research.

The developed SOPs have been piloted in multiple upper level chemistry courses, and student and faculty feedback will be used to further refine them. SOPs will also be developed for other chemical instruments currently used within Chemistry.

Current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Analytical Instruments:

High Performance Liquid Chromatograph (HPLC)

Gas Chromatography – Mass Spectrometer (GC-MS)

Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS)

Atomic Force Microscope (AFM)
