Student Research

The Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) Bird Lab in Lawrenceville, GA always welcomes volunteers, but there are also ways to earn college credit for your efforts!

  • Take BIOL 4570 Experimental Methods! This upper-level course is a great capstone to a biology degree. In this course, students participate as a class (capped at 12 students) in a large-scale, ongoing study and help us analyze the data that they help collect in the field. It is a field-intensive course, so be prepared to be out in the elements, but we have some great adventures!
  • Talk to us about working on your own STEC 4500 Undergraduate Research Project. Most semesters, our lab takes on a few research students who work with us for one-on-one guidance through a semester-long, student-designed project. Be sure to reach out to one of the Bird Lab faculty at least a semester before you wish to take this course.
