Ensuring the humane care and use of vertebrate animals in an academic setting is a Federal mandate for all U.S. institutions. We review and make recommendations on applications submitted by faculty.<\/p>\n<h3>STEM Student Success Committee<\/h3>\n<p><strong>co-Chair (2019 &#8211; 2021), SST School Committee<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As co-Chair of this Committee, I worked with multiple campus offices to investigate and craft proposals for programs that support student success.\u00a0 Campus offices that the Committee liaised with included Financial Aid, Career Development &amp; Advising Center, School of Business, GGC&#8217;s Academic Internship program, Student Success &amp; Engagement, and faculty and staff in the School of Science &amp; Technology.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>STEM-EIP\/NSF Grant Leadership Team<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>(co-Investigator, 2016 &#8211; 2019), School-Wide<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Grant work is centered on implementing several initiatives that support both faculty and students in SST including Peer Supplemental Instruction (PSI), Course-embedded Undergraduate Research Experiences (CUREs),\u00a0 Faculty Learning Communities (FLCs), Yale&#8217;s Mobile Summer Institutes (MoSIs), and SST&#8217;s Annual STEM Symposium.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>STaRS; Science Technology and Research Show<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Member (2015 &#8211; 16), co-Chair (2016 &#8211; 2017), SST School Committee<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Work done on this committee supported the planning and execution of the STaRS event including, inviting graduate and professional schools, coordinating student poster competition, liaising with GGC departments (Facilities, Finance and Catering) to obtain resources for the event, and outreach to community businesses and science vendors for support of STaRS activities.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Biology Program Outcome Goals Assessment for the Cell Biology and Biotechnology Track<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Chair (2014 \u2013 2016), Biology Discipline Committee<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This committee\u2019s work evaluated the extent to which students in this track achieved course learning goals.
